NWS&DB is responsible for distri aloneing purified drinking piss system to the Kundasale area. match to NWS&DB data in 2009, Kundasale area has 25784 number of connections and the intermediate monthly water production is 536976 cubic meters.

Non-gross water (NRW) is a term that refers to water that has been treated and is subsequently lost during infection to the end user or customer. In other course the difference between the tot of water put into the diffusion system and the amount of water billed to consumers. Non revenue water can be caused in different way. There are

High levels of NRW are detrimental to the pecuniary viability of water utilities, as well to the quality of water itself.. Generally, non revenue water persona of Sri Lanka is about 35% while it is 60% in Kundasale area that is about 60%. It has become a major mercantile establishment for the NWS&DB in Kundasale to reduce the amount of non revenue water. This project aims at reducing the NRW in Kundasale area and it is done in collaboration with the NWS&DB in Kundasale.

This problem is partly solved by Warapitiya NWS&DB, but NWS&DB can not large fill the full water requirement of Kundasale area due to he particular that they do not produce enough water, NWS&DB Warapitiya, do not stool a sufficient income which in turn back affects the supply of water . This has become a major issue for the authorities in Kundasale and Warapitiya NWS&DB. According to the details of NWS&DB they energize been faced by NRW problem, which will eventually loose about of the generated water unnoticeably.
