Does culture affect the relationships we baffle in our alerts? Throughout our lifespan we go away have countless relationships, except history has proven the relationships, which have the most long-lasting impact, are those from within your family. Your family culture impacts and forms your world construe, whether it is positivist or negative, and whether you are aware of it or not. Goffman, the well-known sociologist and author, fatigued a large amount of time studying the interactions of individuals within society. His study was primarily focused on body image, but he also looked at relationships as a whole, and he himself perceived that social identity is largely derived from the culture and interactions we have within our family unit. In order to understand Goffmans findings to a greater extent clearly, I will present my own life as an example of how the culture I grew up in has had a signifi throw outt influence in how I view Platonic relationships and the conflict I have experienced as my view is not congruent with that of the American culture I live in (Goffman, 1963).

Culture is make up of beliefs, behaviors, objects, geographical location, and other characteristics common to the members of a crabby group or society. Culture is not limited to race, ethnicity, or nationality but it exists amongst a variety of people; the key is that they all hold the above listed characteristics in common. Through culture, people and groups define themselves, conform to societys shared values, and contribute to society.
