How to write a master thesis

A master thesis is writing carried out as a requirement for attaining a second degree. Therefore, the format of writing the thesis is very important. Lack of an appropriate knowledge on how to write the thesis as seen quite a number of students being disqualified from the colleges or sent back to write using format that is understandable and well defined. Therefore, this article will give a standard outline on how to write a master thesis. It should contain the title page, chapter one, chapter two, chapter three, appendix and the referencing section.

The title page consists of the topic of the paper, the name of the researcher, the institution and sometimes the name of the supervisor, and date of submission depending on the type of write used. The title page is followed by the declaration, dedication and acknowledgement pages. Next, is chapter one which contains the abstract and the background of the thesis.

These two aspects of chapter one should give the previous studies that have been carried out on the topic. Further we have chapter two which contains the objective of the study. The objective of the study enables the reader to know what you intend to achieve at the end of the study. The next facets of chapter two are the problem statement, justification of the study and the statement of hypothesis.

This is followed by chapter three which deals entirely with the methodology. It gives the various methods used in data collection, how the data will be analyzed and presented. The second last section is the appendix which consists of the materials used during the research like questionnaires, and finally, the referencing section which contains a list of books used and their authors.
