His life
David Metzenthen was very connected to nature at a young age, due to being brought up among farms, bushland, and rivers. He love being outdoors, doing activities such as fishing, farm work, and exploring the bush at night, under the stars. According to his other family members he enjoyed being alone, and loosely inside his own head; believing and feeling that the area was a place of unlimited adventures. Having limited freedom, made him give suck his dreams of becoming a cowboy, a fishermen, a farmer, a sailor, or a writer. At the age of 18 he hitchhiked roughly crude Zealand and when he returned to Australia he worked in several contrasting jobs, before finding success as a writer of books for children and young adults. He has received many awards for his excellent books, including the cc CBCA Book of the Year Award: Older Readers for Stony watch Country, the book we are currently studying (term 4, 2012).

Pg.2-3 Aaron was something of an expert on real estate. Hed lived in houses in Melbourne, New York, Los Angeles and Adelaide, so it was no great novelty to be base on balls around this architect-designed joint. What was a little strange was to be stuck someplace in the middle of the Rocky Rises in the west of Victoria, flavor out at a farmland.
